Tim Burton and Alice in Wonderland... Together?

Let's do some math. What happens when you combine these things:

1) Tim Burton
2) Johnny Depp
3) Alice in Wonderland
4) Movie Making Magic

You pretty much get what looks to be one of the most amazing/crazy/epic movies for 2010. If you haven't go watch the teaser trailer on youtube. I'm pretty damn excited. For one I love Alice in Wonderland. All the symbolism and the twisted settings of the story fascinate me. Two it has Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp!!! And three whenever Tim Burton and Johnny Depp do something together (movie wise of course... get you mind out of the gutter) it always promises to be interesting in one way or another.

I think what I liked most is from the trailer and from all the pictures that have come off the set ,of costumes and such, they all go to the extremes. I think my favorite so far has been the queen of hearts. Just ... wow. So in short. March 5th of 2010 please come sooner.

Also Vancouver... where did this thunder and lightning come from?

Those books lists always get me.

You know those things that you set out to and then a little ways in wonder what made you want to do it in the first place? They are always those things that in your head just sound so good to say you completed it. They are the things that either define who you are or who you want to be. They are usually somewhat ridiculous and yet important goals to you.

I personally have a few of these things.

The first one I started at the beginning of the year. I said that by the end of the year I want to have read 100 books. I got the idea from the 50 book challenge but I knew 50 wasn't enough so I said I would read 100. Now nearing the end of just I am only a few books short of 50 but I'm starting to wonder how I am going to read 50 more books.

The second thing I started only a few weeks ago. This one has no specific deadline but holds some interesting endeavors. It is yet again a reading list. The list was created by BBC and holds 100+ different books titles which they believed most people wouldn't have read more than 6 of. I decided I wanted to completely disprove this fact 100% and I am now going to try and read all of the books on this list.

Both these things define who I am, but also who I want to be. Reading a ridiculous amount in a year has always been a big part of me since I was a child. By giving myself the challenge to read 100 books in a year I pretty much am letting that part of myself become more prominent in my life. The books list made up by BBC defines a great amount of who I want to be. The list is full of classic novels that I have never read and frankly have been scared to attempt to read. Books like David Copperfield and Jane Eyre and Sense and Sensibility have always scared me to death and yet I have always wanted to be one of those people who can read and appreciate these types of books. So even though the idea of having to read some of these books will probably haunt me in some of my dreams I think that if I push through I will slowly become the type of person that I see myself as being.

Moral of the story-  Keep doing what your doing. You'll thank yourself later.
